KITA Käferberg warmly welcomes you

Primary School, Kindergarten, Baby & Toddler Group

KITA Käferberg has nurtured children aged 4 months to 12 years for over 10 years. In our child-friendly and stimulating environment, children learn with and from each other. The baby and toddler group takes children from 4 months old to age 3. The kindergarten class is for children aged 3-6 years. Children aged 6-12 years are both taught and cared for in our school. Have fun exploring our website.

We have vacancies!

KITA Käferberg AG
Baby and Toddler group (0-3 years)

Following the Emmi Pikler approach, we care for babies and children aged from 4 months to 3 years.  Our carers are specially selected to develop competent, loving and confident children.  The group structure is adapted for young children, supporting individual development.

Kindergarten (3-6 Years)

Our kindergarten class is for children aged 3 to 6 years. Children are integrated individually into the school during their second year of kindergarten.  The integration starts when the child is ready.

The Maria Montessori motto, "Help me to do it myself", tasks the adults to provide a suitable environment in which children can drive their own development.

Our additional services include trips to the forest, music and swimming.

We are recognized as Montessori kindergarten (AMS) and as a private kindergarten (Volksschulamt Zurich).

School (6-12)

Children move into the school group when they are around five and a half. The second year of kindergarten is integrated into the school group, so that the children can be carefully introduced to independent learning.

They are introduced to the learning tools used, such as the individual weekly plan and learning goals.

To ensure that all the cantonal curriculum learning objectives are met, completion of the weekly plan is mandatory for children from the first class, onwards.

In addition to the curriculum, the weekly schedule includes elements of personal development.

Mixed age groups allow the children to learn from each other. The children work individually or in groups, based on the learning level of each child.

Parent/Teacher reviews are held twice per year.

The weekly plan grows with the child, helping them to prepare for the transition to secondary school.
